PTAP1202 : Introduction to Physical Therapy

This course provides an introduction to the physical therapy profession, including its history, scope of practice, roles and responsibilities of the physical therapist assistant, and the legal and ethical framework guiding practice. Students explore healthcare systems, documentation, communication, cultural competence, and foundational concepts of evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning. Emphasis is placed on developing professional behaviors, understanding healthcare disparities, and applying foundational knowledge to support safe, effective patient care within the plan of care.
